Made with Washington DC's notorious gospel-punk outfit The Make-Up. The musicians seek "creative asylum" in a subcultural womb. This road movie is, in the words of a Parisian critic, "comme si Foucault roulait avec les situationistes dans le Scooby-Doo Van". It is both a lyrical document of a time and space(s) which no longer exist as well as a record of one of the most kick-ass bands on earth.
Generation Impact is a new video series from the Garage by HP about cutting-edge young innovators who are using technology to create a more equitable world. The third film in the series, The Scientist, is about Emily Tianshi, a young woman striving to raise awareness and create solutions for the global water crisis. At age 13, Emily transformed her garage into a science lab to research San Diego’s unique Torrey Pine tree and uncovered how the tree’s unique needle structure enable its survival through years of severe drought in California. Using a $20 microscope, Legos and various household items, she developed a prototype to harvest atmospheric moisture, which has the potential to help produce water in areas of severe drought. Tianshi has applied for a patent on the device she created and is also the founder of Clearwater Innovation, an environmental advocacy program that encourages student innovation to solve environmental problems.
One entry in a series of films produced to make science accessible to the masses—especially children—this film describes the sun in scientific but entertaining terms.

A deeply unqualified man is inexplicably hired as a Michael Bublé impersonator for a rich stranger’s party. Despite no resemblance, no singing ability, and just one week to prepare, he gives it everything he’s got. A hilarious, oddly inspiring documentary about effort over ability and the joy of letting folks believe.

Those TV documentaries you see, and the science experts they feature? Elegance is a short film about a group of Finnish men, and the style and elegance of hunting partridge and pheasant. The film’s protagonists are all wealthy men, for whom hunting is a treasured hobby, a passion and a way of life. The film unfolds in three acts on a scenic autumnal field. Meet the three businessmen: Nokia’s former CEO, Jorma Ollila, engineering company Kone Oy’s owner, Antti Herlin, and the charming narrator, Publishing Company Otava’s former CEO, Heikki A. Reenpää. His narration leads the viewer through hunting expeditions, creates the mood and introduces the people. Almost equally important are the gentlemens’ dogs: handsome pointers and setters, whose pedigrees, abilities and hunting prowess ultimately determine whether any birds are caught at all.
