Parampara is a 1990 Malayalam film directed by Sibi Malayil, written by S. N. Swamy, and starring Mammootty, Sumalatha, and Suresh Gopi. Mammootty plays two roles in the film, portraying both Johny, the protagonist, and Lawrence, his father.
The story is set in Berlin at the beginning of the 20th century. The members of a singing group live in poor conditions in a dilapidated building. When they return from a performance, the police are waiting for them to take them in for questioning.
