He also started a family and became a grandfather. There is no animosity between the two aging men; on the contrary, it seems as if they are long-time friends reuniting after a long separation. After all, for Mr. Šimerda, his misfortune during the robbery of the Loket cash register was ultimately the first step toward a happy and contented life.
