After receiving an unfriendly reception when he finds them, he, California, and Johnny rustle their cattle and drive across the river into Texas. He hopes they will cross over to retrieve their cattle and then he can arrest them.

In the fight, Kitty takes all the money from Black and would have had a bad time, if the White Avenger didn't come in at the right moment, and defeat the Black villain. White rescues Kitty, but instead of thanks he receives a loud slap from her. Kitty still prefers her Black friend and leaves with him.
Jimmy's father, a rancher, died in suspicious circumstances. To make things worse, Jimmy's disreputable uncle has a plot to take over the ranch. Jimmy turns to his friend Brad, the Marshal, for help.
Prospectors discover gold on the outskirts of Rawhide, a small town in the far west. Reuben Glen, a prospector, living in the next county, becomes discouraged and determines to try his luck elsewhere. When he arrives at Rawhide he is gently but firmly requested to remove himself immediately from the vicinity.

Jose trades upon this fact and presses his attentions upon Clarita. He bitterly resents her preference for Tony and does all in his power to belittle his rival.

Wes Anderson (Fred MacMurray) is caught cattle rustling and promptly jailed. The public is outraged, but, since Wes always worked at night, they don't know what he looks like. Still, they break into the prison and lynch a hobo they think is Wes, while the actual culprit sneaks off to see his old flame, Rela (Barbara Stanwyck), who has recently taken up with his straitlaced brother, Tom (William Ching). But Tom is envious of his outlaw brother, and he decides to join Wes in a life of crime.
Working undercover, Allen and sidekick Mendoza are out to stop the mail train robberies. Rivers and his gang are the culprits and by joining up with them, they hope to get the evidence they need.
Captain Stanton, who because of a misunderstanding over a woman with Major Davolo, has been cited for a court martial. As a scout, he is sent to escort a wagon train which is under military escort. It turns out that this escort is his own former regiment. When he meet Davolo, there is another fight and between Stanton and Davolo in which Davolo is killed.

Young Henry Randolph has run up gambling debts to Slade and Slade has arrived to collect the money. When Slade tells Henry he will inform his father, Henry threatens him. When Slade is later found murdered, the posse heads out after Henry. Henry claims he is innocent but flees anyway when the posse approaches.
