Teenaged Rachel lives isolated with her mother in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. In search of a teacher, she connects with the spirit of her dead Oma who introduces her to the forbidden craft of Hexerei… and reveals a dark family secret: a hungry Wight who feeds on grief has haunted her family for generations. Now Rachel must find her own spiritual path to save herself, her family, and her beloved familiar, a cow.
