2084. The global economic crisis, ecological disasters, and the depletion of natural resources have forced the World Organization of Problem-Aware Nations to adopt a pledge: at the end of each year, a randomly selected country must eliminate all individuals aged thirty. Louise and Ivan, newlyweds, are invited to a lavish reception where they will experience their last New Year's Eve.
