In the early 2000s — a period of rapid disruption in viewing habits and the community spaces built around cinema culture — Mila fights to keep alive the neighborhood video store she has just inherited from her father, even as a nearby Blockbuster threatens to wipe it out. When the shop becomes a refuge for a small community of outsiders, Mila is pushed to confront loss, change and her own fear of letting go.
